Ambassador of Myanmar to Nepal

Ambassador Thant Sin has recently been appointed by the Myanmar Government as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to Nepal. He presented his Letter of Credence to the Right Honourable Mr. Ramchandra Paudel, President of Nepal on 13 November 2025.
He served previously as Ambassador of Myanmar to the Republic of Korea for six and a half years (2019-2025).
At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, his role included Director-General (Chief of Protocol), Deputy Director-General of International Organizations and Economic Department. Ambassador Thant Sin has had an extensive career within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and had diplomatic assignments in the Philippines, Switzerland, U.S.A. and ROK. In between his diplomatic career, Ambassador Thant Sin actively participated in numerous UN related meetings, as well as ASEAN and BIMSTEC Summits. He also participated in various State and Official visits of the leaders of Myanmar as a member of Myanmar delegations.
Ambassador Thant Sin received the Rule of Law and Order Medal (1995), Public Service Medal (2006), Outstanding Public Service Medal (2017) and Wunna Kyaw Htin Metal (2022) for his active and outstanding public service.
He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in June 1990.
He is married.
